Crowns And Bridges

Crowns and Bridges

Crown and bridges are fixed prosthetic appliances which can be only inserted and removed by a dentist. They form an important component of restorative dentistry..

Crown

A crown can be used to cover the entire tooth. It can add strength to a tooth and can also be used for cosmetic purposes to improve the shape of a tooth.
It’s often required to replace the missing tooth and termed as fixed prosthesis. Our expert dentist will assess the replacement options for missing tooth and provide the choice of crown or bridge ranging from Porcelain, Ceramic, Gold, Silver, and Porcelain fused to Metal, and Porcelain fused to Zirconia to achieve the finest of anatomy and function.

Crown can be recommended in the following cases:

  • Protecting a fragile tooth

  • Restore a broken tooth

  • For attaching a bridge

  • To cap a dental implant

  • Cosmetic reasons to improve the colour/shape of a tooth

  • Cap a Root Canal treated tooth (Endodontics)

Bridge

Bridges are used to replace one or missing teeth. Bridges are cemented to natural teeth or implants around the missing teeth.

Bridges are commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth. They span the space where the teeth are missing. Bridges are cemented to the natural teeth or implants surrounding the empty space. As with crowns, our dentist can guide you in deciding which materials to be used to fabricate a bridge. Porcelain or ceramic bridges can be used to match the aesthetics and colour of your natural teeth.

Crown and Bridge fabrication

Pre impression preparation of the tooth/teeth is carried out to accommodate the crown or bridge on top of it. Then our dentist will take impressions of the teeth and send them to the dental laboratory to be fabricated.

Once the crown/bridge is back to our clinic, the dentist will cement them into the designated spot.
